A 22-year-old man has been arrested over the disappearance of Ballarat mother, Samantha Murphy.
According to Victoria Police, the local man was arrested at his home early Wednesday morning.
The man remains in custody but has not yet been charged.
Extensive searches of the surrounding Canadian forest area remain ongoing.
According to mobile phone data, police believe that the mother of three reached the Mount Clear area located around 7km from her home.
The 51-year-old left her Eureka Street home on 4 February to go jogging and has not been seen since. The community continue to help with search efforts in the local bushland, where it is believed she went running.
