Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year

Entries for the Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year 2011 are now open!

The Walkley Foundation is a not-for profit organisation which runs the prestigious annual Walkley Awards, given for excellence in journalism. The Foundation also provides training and development programs for journalists and all other media and public affairs professionals.

The Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year Awards are designed to recognise and reward the emerging stars of Australian journalism.

There are five categories that can be entered: print, photography, television, radio and online.

Anyone wishing to enter can submit up to three pieces of work per category, however each individual piece can only be submitted once (not across more than one category).

If you have published an outstanding journalistic piece within the last 12 months and work full-time OR freelance as an Australian journalist, then The Walkley Foundation wants to hear from you!

Prizes include a once-in-a-life-time trip visiting the BBC London and CNN in New York.

You must be aged 26 or under to be eligible to enter.

Entries close 5pm, 18 March 2011.

For further details, and to enter, please visit the Walkley Young Journalist of the Year Awards website.
