Belarus has deployed a third of its army along its entire southern border with Ukraine in response to 120,000 Ukrainian troops amassing at the border.

Ukraine has also confirmed that it has struck two bridges crossing the Seym River in Russia’s Kursk Region. The strike was aimed to disrupt Moscow’s combat operations and supply routes into Ukraine.The destruction of both bridges has left the Russian military team with limited options to cross the river.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence said its troops repelled Ukrainian attacks in several areas, including near the villages of Gordeevka, Russkoe Porechnoe and others.

According to Al Jazeera, Russia’s RIA state-run media agency reported on Friday that Russian military destroyed a Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage unit, which was reportedly armed with weapons from NATO countries in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday the military incursion into Russia’s Kursk region aims to create a buffer zone to prevent further attacks by Moscow across the boarder.

“It is now our primary task in defensive operations overall: to destroy as much Russian war potential as possible and conduct maximum counteroffensive actions,” he said.

Since launching it’s first major offensive attack back into Russia, the Ukrainians have seized over 80 villages and over 1,150 square kilometres. It’s the first time since WWII that Russian Territory is under occupation.
