Two Melbourne men die on holiday in Vietnam

The cause of their death remains unknown.

Two men from south-east Melbourne have died in Vietnam while on holiday, with fundraisers made by both families to help bring them home.

The cause of the deaths of 24-year-old Vincent Atulia and 25-year-old Andrew Colivas are not known.

GoFundMe pages were set up for both Atulia and Colivas by their families to raise funds for their funeral costs and “other financial matters”.

Atulia has been described on his fundraiser, set up by mother Naomi, as a great protector for his family and a selfless man.

“He gave his life to provide and protect for his loving family,” the fundraiser said.

“He was the epitome of great excellence. A young generous heart that always cared for others before himself.”

Coliva’s family described him as a loving man who always protected and helped everyone and was “devoted to his faith”.

“He was a kind, generous and selfless person that loved his family, friends and all things he attempted in life. Andrew was one to go above and beyond to help and protect anyone,” the family wrote on his GoFundMe page.

“We pray for strength during this time of grieving, may God bring you back home safely to us.”

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said they were providing consular assistance to the family of a man who had died recently in Vietnam and three other Australians.

“We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time,” they told the Herald Sun.

“Owing to our privacy obligations, we are unable to provide further comment.”
