A concert will be held in Lismore next month featuring well known Australian artists, with flood-affected residents being able to access a maximum of four free tickers per family.
Those that live in the regional city’s postcodes of 2471, 2472 and 2480 will not have to pay for the show. The concert will be held on the Lismore Showgrounds on Sunday, 15 May between the afternoon til 9:30pm.
The event is called The One From the Heart concert which flaunts a star-studded lineup with anticipated performances from several musicians such as Lime Cordiale, Paul Kelly, The Buckleys, Dan Kelly, Daryl Braithwaite, Sheppard, Jon Stevens and the Lismore based musician Grinspoon.
The concert is organised by Chugg Entertainment, Helium Records and Lismore City Council who are selling an additional 1,000 tickets to those who live outside of flood-affected areas.
CEO of Chugg Entertainment Michael Chugg said that this is a special event for them. This morning Chugg was a guest for Sunrise and said that he is excited for the event.
“It’s gonna be such as wonderful day and everybody in the team who’s involved in this is putting their heart and soul into it,” he said.
Lismore Mayor Steve Krieg was personally affected by the floods, losing his home and both of his businesses, also came onto the show with Chugg to promote the event.
“We just need to lift people’s spirits and keep people going,” he told Sunrise, “To make this happen for the cost of absolutely nothing for the people of Lismore is a remarkable achievement.”
