George Megalogenis guest lecture

The Australian's senior writer George Megalogenis will give a guest lecture at La Trobe University today. He'll discuss political reporting in the digital age amid a faster 24-hour news cycle.

Journalist with The Australian newspaper, George Megalogenis, will give a guest lecture at La Trobe University today.

George will discuss political reporting in the digital age as the increasing pace of the 24-hour news cycle and the growing number of news outlets raises issues for both journalists and politicians.

George spent 11 years in the Canberra press gallery between 1988 and 1999 before returning to Melbourne as a senior writer at The Australian.

He is the author of ‘Faultlines: race, work and the politics of changing Australia’, ‘The Longest Decade’.  In the wake of Australia’s 2010 Federal Election he also wrote a Quarterly Essay titled ‘Trivial Pursuit: Leadership and the End of the Reform Era’.

George’s lecture will be from 12.30-2pm in the Social Sciences Building, Room 302.

All students are welcome to attend.
