Rapper Coolio has died aged 59 at the Los Angeles home of manager and longtime friend Jarez Posey.
The Grammy award winner is known for his 1995 hit song ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, which was used in the film Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer.
‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ spent 13 weeks atop of the ARIA charts between 1995 and 1996, the fourth most of any song in history.
Some of the music world’s biggest stars have taken to Twitter to honour his death.
This is sad news. I witness first hand this man’s grind to the top of the industry. Rest In Peace @Coolio https://t.co/vCeyn08Vsi
