NRL Judiciary Report leaves stars in doubt for finals

Multiple players have been charged with on-field offences that may cause star players to miss some of the finals.

Sydney Roosters player Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is facing a three match ban after a high tackle on Gold Coast Titans hooker Sam Verrills yesterday.

In Waerea-Hargreaves’ first game back after a four match suspension, he was again reported for a careless high tackle in the 10th minute of the game. The incident sent the Roosters prop to the sin bin for 10 minutes. This morning the NRL judiciary have said it is a grade two incident.

If Waerea-Hargreaves enters into a early guilty plea it will mean he would miss the last two games and the first final. If he challenges the charge and is unsuccessful he will miss four games instead of three.

Cronulla Sharks centre Jesse Ramien is facing a one match ban after he was also charged with grade two careless high tackle on Dragons player Mat Feagai. If Ramien submits a early guilty plea he will only receive a one match ban but if he challenges and loses he will miss Sharks last regular season games.

Canterbury Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton was also charged with a grade two careless high tackle and was offered a one match ban with an early guilty plea. If he was to challenge unsuccessfully he wouldn’t be available for selection until the first week of finals.
