The win takes McLaren to first in the Constructor's Championship.

After taking the lead from from Leclerc in Lap 20, the Aussie was centimeter perfect in the remaining 31 laps despite holding a less then a second advantage over the Ferrari driver

McLaren now lead the Constructor’s Championship thanks to the win as well as the fightback from teammate Lando Norris who finished the race in fourth after starting from 15th place on the grid. This is the first time McLaren has lead the Constructors Championship since 2014.

Piastri described his incredible drive in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as the “best win of my career.” in a post race interview.

Mercedes driver George Russel finished third after a crash on the penultimate lap between Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who were fighting it out for the final podium spot.

Max Verstappen finished the race in fifth place behind Norris after struggling around the streets of Baku, but still remains the leader of the Drivers Championship ahead of Brits by 59 points.
