Women’s Chelsea manager, Emma Hayes, has declared her ongoing support for Australian Matildas star Sam Kerr over recent harassment charges.

Hayes said that she was reluctant to comment much on the matter itself, saying that she doesn’t want to jeopardise Kerr’s case.

“For that reason, I’m sure you can appreciate that’s all I’m going to say on the matter, but she has our full support,” she said.

“I want to make it clear that Sam will be supported by me and everybody else at Chelsea.”

Not only does Kerr have the support of her fellow teammates, but also the club itself.

Kerr was charged with harassment towards a police officer, causing him distress during an incident in south-west London, according to the Crown prosecution service.

She denied the allegations at the plea trial held on Monday.
