- No new policy announcements as far as we could tell, though Kevin Rudd did admit Labor got it wrong with the carbon tax in this awkward interview on ABC’s Insiders program.
Coalition policy announcement
- Tony Abbott said an elected Coalition government would establish “Trade Support Loans” from July 1 next year to provide apprentices with interest free loans of up to $20,000 over four years.

Slip of the day
Sometimes it’s the very people one recruits who shoots you, and themselves, in the foot.
The former Queensland premier and new Labor recruit, Peter Beattie, appeared on Network Ten’s Meet the Press program where he wasn’t exactly praising of the current government.
“Minority governments are bloody shockers,” he said.
