Trainee reporter

The Australian Financial Review are looking for a Sydney-based trainee journalist. Applications close 6 December.

The Australian Financial Review  are seeking a Sydney-based trainee reporter. Candidates will be highly motivated, tertiary qualified and committed to a career in financial journalism.

They will have knowledge and interest in Australian share market listed companies, equity markets and broad business issues.  The postion requires writing, news gathering and financial analysis skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues simply.

You must be a self-starter and capable of generating original ideas for articles, while meeting daily deadlines.

Candidates may have previously been employed in stockbroking or funds management in a junior analyst role.

As an Australian Financial Review trainee, you will be given on the job training and mentored over a 12 month period.  You will also be exposed to all Financial Review Group publications including BRW and Smart Investor Magazines.
